A lot can be said about social media. I happen to love the fact that you meet some of the most amazing creatives and good people. I met photographer extraordinaire today for a shoot JASON MYERS, up from West Palm Beach, FLA - and I had originally met him on Twitter - just reaching out to creatives. He was not only gracious, but coming to town soon! I was so thrilled to have met him and worked with him today. We had a tremendous time at Studio Berry Hill then Traveler's Rest for some killer shots with a wonderful singer/songwriter, Emily Earle from The Voice. She was a NATURAL in front of the camera. Here she is looking pretty for my iPhone, unedited. Can't WAIT to see the finished product from Jason and his mad skills, too. Assisting me today was Sara Beehive herselve, a consumate pro. Daniel Williams was on board as well to assist Jason. What a gorgeous day out too! Winner Winner :)
Recently, I worked with the uber talented photographer Brenna Gentry - she requested a "cotton candy" makeup and hair theme for her upcoming shoot. The collaboration began on my Pinterest board with the inspiration from the remarkable jewelry designer Elizabeth Cooke who provided all the jewelry. Our killer wardrobe stylist by the name of Hannah Riles, whom Teen Vogue has highlighted traveled a bit with her rather expansive wardrobe to work with us all. A few of the dresses were also provided by House of Stella in Franklin TN. We shot a lot on the streets of downtown Franklin that day - with our GORGEOUS model Nila of MACS/AMAX - ever the trooper in the cold. SHE is simply divine. Everyone was on their A GAME :)
Busy season of bridal and commercial editorials afoot! This is from a recent collaboration with the amazingly talented photographer Derek Martinez - we were lucky to have time to shoot at a new wedding venue (new to the wedding biz, anyway) at the gorgeous O'More College of Design in Franklin TN - this is one of the interiors of their beautiful building on campus. I'm always thrilled to be invited to do hair and makeup with young and incredibly talented creatives. I feel like an invigorated dinosaur when working along side people more than half my age, with incredible potential and effortless joy. Price Stone is one of those young, gifted ones - he's a talented photographer shooting fashion and beauty in Nashville - and is definately one to watch. I suspect he'll be a big international fashion photographer in the near future - no doubt. !!! HAPPY NEW YEAR 2013 !!! I am really looking forward to 2013 - new and exciting projects in the hopper, new creatives to work with, new horizons for us all - keep your eyes on the prize, friends. This will be truly a year of transformation for not only my clients, but for me. STAY CALM!
The last few days of 2012 I had the opportunity to work with some divinely-led people - namely a beautiful songstress by the name of Susan Ketron - for her EPK Session - shot at Daywind Recording Studio by the talented director Billy Brown of Evidential Productions. My good friend and partner in crime, uber-talented hairstylist Jenna AlHayek was kind enough to include me as makeup to this project. I'm looking forward to the finished project soon - stay tuned... NOTE: One of my very favorite things to do in life is to take someone (artist, mom, teen, bride, anyone that will have me) get to know them and their vision, and help produce a polished, modern look for them - i said from the beginning to Susan that it all starts with the hair - Jenna took Susan from boxed medium blonde to this ombre brunette with bangs - transformation is putting it mildly - I just added the finishing makeup touches to bring her into 2013 and beyond. I love my job and the very talented people I am constantly surrounded by!
